Define the Problem
For my project I had to make a train and its parts by using given measurements
Generate Concepts
When starting to dimension i would always use the given measurements to find the non given ones. I also used YouTube to help me with some of the dimensions.
Develop a Solution
Construct and Test Prototype
Evaluate the Solution
My dad said it looked good and that i don't need to change anything. He couldn't think of any improvements
Present the Solution
I faced a minimum amount of challenges while completing this project. The only problems I had was when I forgot my USB at home and also when the dimensions of some of my parts were wrong. Some other problems I had to deal with is that when constraining the wheel would not constrain to the side of the train properly. Some skills that I learned were how to constrain the center axis of objects to holes which is very useful. I also learned how to use other constraint styles different from the normal mate constraint, like tangent and insert. The purpose of a sectional view is to show the inside of an object. For example, if you have a block that has holes in it and you want to find what type of hole or the dimensions of the hole you can use a section view to cut the object in half and look at the inside. The purpose of auxiliary view is to show the dimension of an object with an inclined slope. This would be used on objects like the cow catcher in the project to see the inside of the object. The purpose of a broken view is to dimension an object that is really long by making it shorter while keeping the same dimensions. Symbols are used to dimension holes instead of words just so it can be easier and faster to read. We need tolerances because all humans make mistake so this allows a little bit of error while the object can still work.
