In this RNG project, we used the Vex circuits to go through the process of and learn how to solder different components on to a board.
The main goals of this project was to:
The main goals of this project was to:
- Help us learn to solder better
- learn how to identify certain components
- To learn how components on a circuit board work
Test a Prototype
Evaluate the solution
1. My data was not that evenly distributed because the generator rolled the numbers 1 and 2 the most at 22% and 20%. I do think the random number generator is fair because if the RNG has a distribution of 16.67% for every number then that would mean it was programmed to roll each number evenly, therefore not making it 100% random.
2. The person to coin the term "debug" was U.S. Navy Admiral Grace Hopper. A Harvard technical team found a moth in the device the device they were working on which led Hopper to make the comment "First actual case of bug being found", starting the popular use of the term.

Conclusion:
This project was very fun for me. I enjoyed it a lot. Learning how to solder is a very necessary skill in the world of digital electronics. Also seeing how important each component is and how each plays a specific part was very informational. Soldering was fairly easy for me during this project. I didn’t have too many problems and I knew what I was doing, most of the time. I did run into a problem when I had put the 2 capacitors in the wrong way. I had to go back and de-solder the points of contact and re-solder then back into the board. This was a hard thing to do because the solder was stuck in the sliver ring on the board which prevented it from getting sucked up properly. I had to place the soldering iron on the sliver ring as I pulled on the capacitor from the other side. This project definitely helped me understand soldering even more. Back when I was soldering my headphones to fix them, I was just starting soldering, so my work was not that great. After this project I feel as though I can solder way better than I could before.
